BIBLE STUDY GOALS:
Luke 1:46-
New King James Version (NKJV)
46 And Mary said:
“My soul magnifies the Lord, To glorify God in spirit we turn all our thoughts, feelings and emotions to His splendor. Adore Him with heartfelt passion and enthusiasm. Proclaim His greatness publicly whenever something good happens to you and to others.
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. When the mind becomes occupied with the Truth (which is the Word of God from the Bible) worries subside. Grudges, regrets, guilt, resentment is all washed away with the innocent blood of Jesus. Then, the soul becomes free and happy in its Salvation. Let us pray, that we will experience such radiant happiness, that we can’t help but sing and dance because of God’s greatness.
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. Don’t deny, belittle or hide your gifts, talents or good fortune. Thank God for them and tell everyone that it is God’s work. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. Mary immediately accredits any glory and honor to God. People will call her fortunate because of what God did for her, not of her accomplishments but of God’s accomplishments in her. The Lord chose to come to this world through Mary and form His Divine flesh, in her flash, to become like us. God being born from a human into a human means happiness to all people. This is a joyful mystery to be celebrated by all.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. God controls the natural and the supernatural, his might has been documented in history and in the Bible. God justly strikes those who stand directly against Him, His church and those who suppress the Truth. For Christians who do not oppose The Lord, this is a fear of being separated from God by sin. This is a fear of hurting Pure Love and His creation through negligence and selfishness, while not being able to do penance. This is a fear of forsaking our divinity: God’s image and His very Spirit within us, for the things of this world. 51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. Plans for success, wealth and glory, aside from God, are just unrealistic expectations and they will all eventually fail. Self-
52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. God intervenes for His people. There is a documented and extensive record how Our Father has made shepherds into kings (David), peasant women into queens (Ruth) and showed His might against the biggest kingdoms in history in the Old Testament. Just as then, today God continues to intervene for His people in places of power.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. This refers to being hungry for knowledge. We must be open minded and understand how helpless and wrong we are in our own interpretation, without God’s revelation. Pray for wisdom and for the Spirit’s integration of communicating the Truth to others through you lips, immediately when it is needed. Those who think of themselves to be wise, smart, educated, who value their degrees above what God can say through the poor and lowly, gain nothing. They leave as they entered: full of themselves and empty at heart.
54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy,
55 As He spoke to our fathers,To Abraham and to his seed forever.” The Holy Ghost is God himself reflected in our spirits. For Mary, the Holy Spirit was not only living in her spirit, but he was living in her entire being: literally, even in her flesh! This is why God revealed through Mary’s song how all of His promises and all of the Gospel relates to what God did in her. The Lord filled Mary with knowledge beyond our spontaneous grasp.
56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house. Help each other and serve one another in love. Mary traveled a long time through difficult terrain to work for Elizabeth in her hour of need (first pregnancy in elderly age). Mary help her cousin in the difficult times of pregnancy and while Elizabeth was giving birth. Pregnancies, illnesses, and periods of need, are relatively brief, yet for the afflicted they seem unbearable, lonely and endless. Times of affliction are infrequent and severs, and as such, they are imprinted in the mind clearly as episodic memory. Do what God tells you, so that they will remember how God comforted them and remedied their condition through the people He sent. Run with help, and serve as long as needed just as the woman whom God exalted did.
